Refund policy
No Refunds, No Returns Policy:
In Brief: Our simple, clear NO REFUNDS, NO RETURNS policy is aimed at keeping your purchase price the lowest in the industry for thick-casting epoxies! Even when returns & refunds are "allowed" (SOUNDS great), in reality refunds are almost never granted. We avoid your going down that garden path, wasting your time & money. The good news is we pass the savings on to you. For example, state sales tax is included in our list price!
Full Reasons: 1. Competitors who do allow returns & refunds report attempted resin return rates by customers of under 1%, so firstly it's a benefit you'll rarely want, but if you do: 2. Most suppliers selling resins online require you to pay return shipping, which for heavy, hazardous materials like these can approach your purchasing price, making it pointless. 3. There is usually a 20% restocking fee! 4. Further, even if competitors pay return shipping (Amazon), if the bottles have been unsealed or opened (which you have to do to try them out!), NO refund is EVER provided. Think about that: it’s a real “Catch 22!” 5. Further yet, if the returned products then perform OK in the supplier's lab, as usually happens (customers almost always just didn't mix correctly), there is again NO refund. All this packing, paying shipping, restocking fees, testing & investigating, just to eventually hear "NO" takes time & expense, & builds bad will. We bypass all this hassle & cost on your part, giving you the exact same answer up front, (for free!): "No." Counter-intuitively, this is truly in the customer's best interest.
We're not alone: Gougeon Brothers, one of the largest formulators of epoxy resin kits, as used on beautiful wooden boats & canoes, also has a NO REFUND, NO RETURNS policy, as do many others.
Lost or damaged during Shipping?
Boxes of resin leave our premises in perfect condition, with addresses automatically applied to shipping labels exactly as supplied by you, the customer, through our store online. Any issues after that are between the customer & shipper (always via UPS, Ground). Problems are very rare. Our UPS representative told us that she handles lost or damaged packages VERY infrequently. Deliveries are made correctly per our UPS rep. over 99.99% of the time. In practice, this is not anything to worry about, per UPS.
But: If the box is damaged or missing (extremely rare), then a claim must be filed by the customer, with UPS. If the claim is successful UPS will inform & reimburse the shipper, & only up to $100. In this case they will advise us of the (partial) refund, & after doing so, we will return the exact amount UPS refunds to us, to you. Photographs are advised in the event of damaged products. Do NOT bother filing a claim if the box is heavily damaged but the contents of the box are OK: no refund will ever be made by UPS in that case, per UPS, "the damaged box just did its job of protecting the contents." Our major competitors' policy is exactly the same regarding shipping: i.e. for you to take it up with UPS, & is stated on the outside of every box they deliver.
If you think you have a legitimate claim, and have gotten no relief (which will never exceed $100) from contacting UPS directly, then contact us through our online store. We will assist, within the same above parameters. We will do so (only) after you provide100% of the following information: name, address, email, phone number, photos (if product is damaged), what you ordered, & the case number you received from UPS as well as your UPS order number and date when you were notified that it should have arrived. Thank you.
In short, refunds & returns are a snake-pit we advise staying out of. The need is very rare, but hardly ever, even in the best of circumstances, is it worth the customer's time & effort to pursue (even with Amazon, see above).
Online Local Reselling, or Disposal:
Reselling: If you no longer have use for unused epoxy resin kits, we suggest selling them online, as through Craigslist right in your own geography to avoid very high, unnegotiated UPS shipping rates for hazardous materials, restocking fees & the like. You will get more money back this way, than when attempting returns to any original supplier, with far less hassle.
Disposing: Otherwise, for safe disposal of unused epoxy & hardener, simply harden them up according to our standard mixing instructions (making sure to mix in small quantities and at temperatures low enough to avoid run-away exotherms), and when completely cured dispose in the trash.
